An Evening to Promote Racial Justice Awards

Congratulations to our 2019 Eliminating Racism Award recipient, Erica Turner!

Erica Turner is a Registered Nurse and IT professional in healthcare. She is an extraordinarily passionate advocate for building a world of racial justice and equity across facets of her life, focused on forging relationships in the virtually all-white suburban community where her family lives, works, plays, and worships. Erica was integral to creating the grass roots organization Bridge the Divide and sponsors racially literate podcasts, educational programming, community projects, film series and book studies to promote lasting, cross-cultural connections.

Her goal is to facilitate community conversations that launch joint, achievable, sustainable solutions, esp in the North Shore suburbs and exurbs. She is committed to interacting with love, listening while reserving judgment, fostering healing from racial injustices, and waking up apathetic attitudes.

Erica was the recipient of the Spirit of Unity and NAACP Game Changers awards in 2018.
