YWCA Southeast Wisconsin and Literacy Services of Wisconsin have teamed up to help enable one million adult learners to acquire the skills they need to lead more empowered lives through the use of technology. As part of the $1 Million Adult Literacy XPRIZE Communities Competition, we are pleased to present innovative mobile apps for adults to learn how to read and build language skills in an easy, convenient, private, and effective way.

Team MKE

Milwaukee Knowledge Exchange (MKE) brings together YWCA Southeast Wisconsin and Literacy Services of Wisconsin to maximize the scope and reach of the X-prize applications to adults with academic needs and those facing barriers in southeast Wisconsin. MKE collectively serves 1,700 adult students each year and accounts for over 40% of the GED/HSED outcomes in the region. By joining forces, we hope to maximize the distribution and impact of the educational apps designed specifically for adults.
