An Evening to Promote Racial Justice was a huge success with nearly 500 attending.
A celebration of those working for racial equality, the 2016 Evening to Promote Racial Justice featured keynote speaker Robin DiAngelo. She discussed what it means to be white in a society that proclaims race meaningless and, speaking as a white person, took her captive audience through an analysis of white socialization. Her presentation also addressed how race shapes the lives of white people, explained what makes racism so hard for whites to see, identified common white racial patterns and responded to white narratives that deny racism.
