Racial Justice Award Nominations 

We are currently seeking nominations for our racial justice awards to be presented at this year's event. 

This is the 14th annual "Evening" highlighting YWCA Southeast Wisconsin's unparalleled leadership in racial justice efforts and encouraging colleagues and friends to reflect on the work that is yet to be done. It will feature a nationally known keynote speaker and annual awards that recognize individuals for their commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women in their professional and personal lives.

Empowering Women Award 

This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to empowering women in Southeast Wisconsin through their volunteer or paid work, advocacy, and leadership.

For example, someone who: advocates publicly and supports women's causes, advances development of women using personal power and influence, or eliminates discriminatory barriers to women's success and invests time and talent in causes that make a positive impact on women.

Eliminating Racism Award

This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to eliminating racism in Southeast Wisconsin through their volunteer or paid work, advocacy, and leadership.

For example, someone who: advocates publicly and supports understanding of racial justice issues/concerns; advances knowledge, understanding and awareness of race and racism; eliminates discriminatory institutional barriers to people of color's contribution to the community; and invests time and talent in fighting racial discrimination.
