Skills for Success

Skills for Success is a career exploration and job readiness program designed to give youth ages 15-18 a jumpstart as they prepare for the workforce. Through workshops, presentations, and other fun activities, Skills for Success students acquire the confidence and abilities that will enable them to achieve their future career goals.
 

Ways To Get involved!
1. Summer Camp 2014: July 7 - August 1
The Skills for Success summer camp is a free camp and internship for teen girls ages 15-18. The camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Transportation is provided. *Registration is closed. Check back for 2015 dates.
          

2. On-site workshops

If you work for a high school or teen-serving organization and would like to discuss bringing Skills for Success to your students during the school year, please contact us. The workshop curriculum is open to high school age boys and girls. 

 

Things you will do at Skills for Success:
      
• Start setting goals  
      • Find the right career and education path 
      •
Create a resume and cover letter
      • Practice job interviews   
      
• Learn how to search for a job
      • Learn about credit scores, budgeting and more
      • Discuss the importance of soft skills such as 
         communication, eye contact, and teamwork
