This is a very exciting time for YWCA Southeast Wisconsin, as we will celebrate the 125th anniversary of our incorporation in 2018. Much has changed in those past 125 years, from fads to fashions, to phenomenal growth and advances in technology, to global and political climates. Through it all, one thing that has stayed constant: Our dedication to this community.
We always have been and always will be committed to offering programs and services that support social justice, help families and strengthen communities.
Southeast Wisconsin has tremendous assets and offers great opportunities for many people to grow and thrive. We are proud to call it our home. But it has its share of challenges, including racism, inadequate housing, education, health care disparities and limited economic opportunity for others. Together we can work toward minimizing and, some day, eliminating these problems. It can’t happen without intentional effort, which is what we put forth every day.
I am proud to be part of an organization that is committed to reshaping Southeast Wisconsin into a region that offers opportunities and hope for each one of its citizens.
Join us for a year filled with special activities and mission-focused events leading up to 2018, the momentous year of our 125th anniversary.
I hope you will be part of the ongoing celebration.
